Today at daycare, I practiced lots of impulse control with a fun game called Red Light, Green Light! It took all my focus to stop when asked, but I worked hard and did a great job. After our training session, it was time for some well-earned fun! I spent the rest of the day playing with my friends, splashing in the pool, and soaking up all the excitement. Today was a daily crazy day tons of energy and play throughout the day without a lot of calm. Most of us had a blast. And for our skills we worked on puppy push-ups (sit-down-up). Most of us did great and were very engaged. Overall fun day! Pepper was struggling a lot with the energy levels for most of the day. Wit overstimulated play as well as running after dogs barking at them if they wouldn’t play. Pepper did ok with separation but did much better with a hands free walk.

I was very happy to play with Riker today. I did play with most of the dogs in the room, but Riker is always my favourite. I got a few corrections when we would go over threshold, especially when I slammed into the legs of the staff while playing. For today’s exercise, we worked on confidence building on a wheelchair and I did well. I jumped up with a good amount of confidence.

Today at school I worked super hard on my door manners! We practiced waiting politely at door thresholds both inside and outside. I learned to pause, stay calm, and move through only when invited. I’m getting really good at controlling my excitement! After all that focus, we went outside to soak up the sunshine and play with my friends. It was the perfect way to end the day! I had so much fun playing with my friends today, Riker was of course my best friend today, but I also enjoyed playing with Larry and all the other dogs. There were a few times I demand barked at my friends when they tried to take a break from play but I listened to my instructors well when the helped me move on. Today I wanted to play with my friends all day. I didn’t always listen when they asked for a break and I was would bark at my friends while they were trying to nap. The staff would walk me on their belt and I was good with the leash but generally returned to whichever dog I was playing with before after being released. I did pretty good with the focus exercise today; for today’s focus exercise we had a Winter Olympics and ran through a tunnel, I was hesitant about going through the tunnel and only took a few steps but I tried my best.

Today I practiced handling and walking on leash! My trainers helped me get comfortable being gently guided and checked over, and I worked on walking nicely without pulling! I also had lots of fun playing with my friends and enjoyed good cuddles from my trainer!! 🐶🦮🧡

Pepper had an amazing first day!! She was so sweet and so gentle with the dogs and trainers🤍🤍 When she first got in she was a bit nervous but she soon became our Velcro dog she even tripped us a few times. She also showed us her barking skills!!
